Shellmar Construction was appointed by Danaher & Walsh to undertake the labour only enabling works, formwork, and steel reinforcement for the construction of the new Watkin Road Bridge.

Our scope included the preparation of the site and phased execution of reinforced concrete formwork and rebar installation for the substructure and deck elements of the bridge. These works were critical to the successful formation of the new crossing, designed to improve local transport links.

Due to the live environment and proximity to road users, works were carefully phased and coordinated to minimise traffic disruption. Throughout the programme, pedestrian access was maintained, ensuring the safety and accessibility of the surrounding area.

This project highlights Shellmar’s ability to deliver complex structural works within sensitive, high-traffic locations through safe planning, technical precision, and collaboration with the principal contractor.
