Shellmar Construction was appointed to deliver the enabling works for the refurbishment of an existing commercial premises on North Road, Islington.

The initial scope involved the full internal strip-out of the former office space, including the removal of all M&E services, stud partitions, suspended and skimmed ceilings, and final finishes. The objective was to return the building to a clean, open-plan shell ready for redevelopment.

Following strip-out, our team carried out specialist works to address the existing floor, which contained traces of asbestos. This required careful grinding of the surface using specialist extraction and containment equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations. Once fully prepared, the surface was mechanically polished to a high-spec concrete finish, providing a clean, durable, and modern floor as a base for the future fit-out.
