Shellmar Construction was appointed by Borras Construction to deliver the groundworks and substructure package for the extension of a Grade II-listed heritage building within Brockwell Park. The project, funded by the National Lottery, aimed to create a new community hall as part of the park’s regeneration initiative.

Our works included the formation of reinforced concrete foundations, slabs, and walls, along with detailed underpinning to support the existing historic structure. We also constructed new access steps and carried out all associated drainage and service provisions required to enable the superstructure works.

Given the heritage status of the site and its public setting, works were carefully managed to preserve the surrounding environment, maintain public safety, and coordinate with conservation requirements — delivering a high-quality start to a meaningful community-focused development.
